YUN Youngdo (Assisatant Professor)
YUN Young Do, HK Professor research professor of the Institute for East Asian studies at Sungkonghoe University, was born in 1971. He graduated undergraduate and graduate school of Yonsei University in Chinese Language and Literature major. In 2005 he earned Ph. D. His dissertation work is “A Study of Western Learning Translation in the Early Modern China : With the Focus on Wanguogongfa (萬國公法 ; the Chinese Edition of Wheaton’s Elements of International Law)”. Recently he studies the formation process of China and East Asian contemporary nation-state discourse and makes analysis of the literature, ideology and cultural texts connected with it. As the outcomes of his works there is a Korean version of “Reading Chinese Economic Geography” (2005) about Chinese regional culture theory, the papers like “An Allegorical Interpretation on Datongshu (The Great Commonwealth)”, “The Formation of Modern Linguistic Space and Government-established Translation Institution at Mid-19th Century”, “A Study on the initial formation of South Korea’s and Taiwan’s National University after the World War Two(1945~1950) ― Reconstruction of the Schools of Humanities” and others.
