OH Yeong Sook (Adjunct Professor)
Young-Sook Oh is a research professor at SungKongHoe University. Her major teaching and research interests are in the areas of Korean cinema, Asian Cinema and mass media. She has a BA and MA from the Seoul National University with a major in Korean Modern Literature, and received her MA and PhD from the Hanyang University with film theory and history. She published several books on Korean Cinema such as Korean Cinema and the Cultural Discourse in the 1950s, and translated Slavoj ?i?ek’s book The Fright of Real Tears: Krzystof Kieslowski between Theory and Post-theory and David Bordwell’s Narration in the Fiction Film into Korean. Her recent interests are exploring how mass media represent and affect individual identity, values, and perspectives.
